12 2015 The Foundation organises an international meteorology workshop The international workshop Social Perceptions of Water and Climate focused on the debate on climate change and the challenges of informing society of the issue Top meteorologists from around the world came together at the Roca Barcelona Gallery to participate in the international workshop Social Perceptions of Water and Climate, organised as part of World Water Day. Over two intense days of talks and working groups, international experts such as Dr. Jean-Pascal van Ypersele, Vice-Chair of the IPCC (Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change), and Michael Williams, Director of Communication and Public Affairs at the WMO (World Meteorological Organization), amongst others, discussed how to provide information in their respective countries on climate change- related issues. The importance of water, sustainable development and management of water resources were other matters discussed. The workshop was organised together with the IABM (International Association of Broadcast Meteorology) and with Tomàs Molina, meteorologist, journalists and IABM member in Spain, as Content Director. The IABM is the professional association representing the world’s broadcast meteorology community and collaborates with the WMO (World Meteorological Organization), the United Nations meteorology body. In addition to these activities held in Barcelona, Social Perceptions of Water and Climate also featured round table sessions at the Roca Madrid Gallery, where they discussed Water and sustainable development, and the Roca Lisboa Gallery, which saw debate on Social perceptions of water and climate. For its part, the Roca London Gallery hosted Jean-Pascal van Ypersele, IPCC Vice-Chair Designing for Climate Change , whilst at the Roca Shanghai Gallery, discussions focused on design and water savings, with Design with heart, water saving life.
