DH Jung, founder of the studio Platasia, presented some of the projects they have recently carried out, such as Xoangshawan Desert Lotus Hotel, in which architecture and nature are combined. Han Wenqiang, another speaker and one of the founders of Camp Design Studio, shared his experience on the transformation of traditional architectural spaces. Finally, Shuhei Aoyama, one of the most renowned architects in Beijing, addressed the future of architecture and the development of its values. The speakers were experts in hotels and renovation of dwellings An exhibition showcases designs that consider social responsibility It is intended to make the general public reflect on the importance of severe problems such as pollution or natural disasters Roca collaborated with Zoomer Studio in the organization of the exhibition “Near & Distant” at the Roca Beijing Gallery, which showcased the work of 11 designers, focusing on the care of people, as well as on different interpretations of the future social responsibility. Design not only implies creating a product, a poster or a garment, it also implies a mechanism and a way of thinking and this is what the exhibition aimed to convey. The showcased designs were meant to make the audience reflect on the importance of the severe problems our society is facing, such as pollution or natural disasters, while at the same time proposing solutions for these.
