Professional Category Winning project. “Morpho” A modular floor made up of elastic sheets by the Colombian engineer Eduardo Cárdenas (EAFIT University, Medellin). “Morpho” creates multiple configurations based on experience, needs or environments, turning the bathroom space into a new place for the experience of future generations. Inspired by natural interactions and geometry, it can be pre-configured in many different ways. Student Category. Winning Project. “Care Bee” A shower column by the Hungarian industrial and product design student, Janos Priskin (Moholy- Nagy University of Arts and Design, Budapest). It consists of a shower-head and a control panel with an internal water flow system, a filtering system and a tank. This is a reinvention of the traditional shower, as the temperature increases automatically, and water also changes to steam, having a positive effect on the user’s skin. Dorota Koziara highlighted its “eco-friendly nature, its aesthetic function and its concept of relaxation, so appreciated in today’s stressful world.” Ruy Ohtake, Isabel Roig, Boris Voskoboynikov, Dorota Koziara and Josep Congost presented the 10,000€ check to the young student. “Care Bee” project, designed by Janos Priskin, was the winner in the Student Category Special We Are Water Foundation Prize to the most sustainable project. Winning Project. “Tik-Tap” A shower-head by Soyeon Lee, Korean student of the Master’s degree in Art, Visual Arts and Curatorial Studies and Hyemin Min, Korean student of Interior Design at the Nuova Accademia di Belle Arti in Milan. It is a project to raise awareness of the irresponsible use of water. The project is inspired by the distance many African people need to walk to fetch water. It consists of a timer inside the shower that connects the amount of water used to the distance a person needs to walk in Africa to collect water. Xavier Torras highlighted the project “for its capacity to raise awareness of the value of water for life.” Deborah Seward, Low Cheaw Hwei and Xavier Torras presented the 6,000€ award to the winning designers.
