Twenty-five deans and design experts from the world’s largest and most prestigious schools of design and art participated in two days of analysis and workshops, which resulted in the drafting of a joint letter in the style of a roadmap describing how design can work to contribute value as a key agent in achieving the UN’s Sustainable Development Objectives. Among the proposed lines of action were: how design can contribute to reversing climate change, combating the scarcity of resources and dealing with the relationship with robots or other new technologies. Roca’s participation in this workshop brought an industrial perspective to this debate. As an inaugural act for these conferences, the Roca Barcelona Gallery hosted a dinner for the 25 deans and experts from the most prestigious schools of art and design around the world.
