Unlike photography, which for many years has been almost the only language to tell the story of architecture, films are now being used to explain not only the final result but also the ideas of the creators, the relationship between a building and its inhabitants, and the impact of architecture on society. The cycle was held at the Xperience Hub space and started with two short films directed by Alfonso Calza on the subject of “Scenographic or Orographic Architecture?”, with respect to projects by architect and designer Ramón Esteve. Other screenings included “Unfinished Italy” from the young Italian-French director Benoit Felici, who travelled around the country searching for incomplete public works. Meanwhile, “Video Mapping Show” and “Roca Beijing Gallery” highlighted how images can transform the urban profile of a city. Alessandro Manetti, Director of the European Institute of Design in Barcelona, also gave a talk on this topic. “Arquitectura en Corto” is a cycle on the cinematographic narration of architecture The directors were present at the screenings The short films deal with different aspects of architecture 14
